The euro (€ or EUR) is the official currency of 20 of the 27 member states of the European Union. This group of states is known as the eurozone or euro area.
They are Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.
The Euro is also the official currency in Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City; who each have their own Euro coin designs.
