Georg Fischer founded his company in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1903. It became known for the production of lithographed tinplate penny toys, the majority of which were exported.
They were mainly small vehicles, about 4 inches long, sometimes equipped with a clockwork motor, sometimes without. In addition, there were lithographed tinplate gas stations, garages, and entire layouts, often with mechanical gimmicks, on which the vehicles could run, and other tinplate mechanical toys, such as merry go rounds, humming tops, etc.

After WWII, the company failed to enter the "plastic age" and was one of the first traditional German tinplate toy manufactureres to go out of business around 1959, although this cannot be confirmed precisely.
