Pilen S.A. was a manufacturer of toys in Ibi, Alicante, in southeastern Spain. Model cars were produced from 1969 through the mid-1990s mostly in 1:43 scale. (one site reports 1968-1991.) Many of the castings were inherited from French Dinky. The company was started in the 1960s by Pilar and Enrique Climent (hence PILEN!), diecasting items like colorful metal sailboats and key chains. In the late 1980s. Pilen was apparently bought (or just some of their tooling) by AHC of the Netherlands. AHC and also Artec were then succesor brands to Pilen.
