From 1979 to 1999, the Puch brand was used in Austria and some other markets for an off-road vehicle made in Graz by Steyr-Daimler-Puch but sold as Mercedes-Benz G in most countries.

On the other hand, the small cars based on the Fiat 500 which were manufactured in the same factory from 1957 to 1975 and the Haflinger and Pinzgauer off-road vehicles made from 1959 to 1999, which were all commonly known as Puch products, were actually sold under the combined brand name Steyr-Puch.

After 1999, when the Steyr-Daimler-Puch group had been split up, the brand was sold to Piaggio of Italy and continued to be used on bicycles.
