Eleanor Shellstrop is the protagonist of the NBC sitcom, The Good Place. She is portrayed by Kristen Bell. She is a human whose soul eventually becomes one of four emotional torture subjects for a demon named Michael. However, despite the many trials, Eleanor almost always managed to figure out that she was indeed in the "Bad Place" and not the supposed "Good Place" she was told. However, her time with Chidi, Tahani, and Jason ultimately made Eleanor a better person, which would result in the afterlife's change in assessment policies.
