"Between Deathlok and a Hard Case" Part 2 of 4. Guest-starring Cable and Deathlok. In the Imayan desert; War Machine, Cable, and Deathlok engage in a three-way standoff! Fortunately though, Rhodey and Deathlok have the same objective: rescuing Vincent Cetewayo! But the mutant Cable fears an international incident and wants both of them to leave the country! However War Machine and the Demolisher refuse! And after chasing off Cable, the powerful duo makes their way to the imperial palace! Will they find Vincent Cetewayo inside or just another roadblock? Cameo appearance by Sheva Joseph.

"Contents Under Pressure" Part 3 of 4. Guest-starring Deathlok. Inside the Imayan executive palace, SHIELD agents confront War Machine and Deathlok! And for the second time, Jim Rhodes is told to leave Imaya and stay out of its internal affairs! But Rhodey is deeply committed to doing what is right! So War Machine joins the rebel forces and leads them into battle against Imaya's army! Wow, is the former avenger really going to lead a coup d'état? Cameo appearances by Sheva Joseph and Vincent Cetewayo. Flashback cameo by Cable.

"Right Here, Right Now!" Part 4 of 4. In the North African country of Imaya, James Rupert Rhodes goes for broke! War Machine is going to overthrow the officially recognized government of Imaya or die trying! It's unprecedented for a superhero to go this far! And win or lose, Rhodey will have to live with his actions for weeks and months to come! Final appearance of Vincent Cetewayo. "The Wages of Death!" Part 1 of 2. The international community is upset with War Machine after his aggressive intervention in the political crisis in Imaya! So to address their concerns, Rhodey (in his silver and black armor) gives a speech to the United Nations General Assembly! But during his remarks to the unhappy U.N. delegates, a bizarre assassin called Deathtoll attacks! War Machine quickly engages the savage killer and throws him in the East River! Scratch one assassin! Meanwhile, the team at Worldwatch has identified a possible human rights atrocity in the South American country of Corteña! And that's where Rhodey and his crew are going next! Cameo appearances by Rae LaCoste and Sheva Joseph.

"Instant Karma's Gonna Get You!" Part 2 of 2. South of the border in the country of Corteña, War Machine and Sheva Joseph investigate rumors of a mass gravesite! Tragically, Worldwatch's worst fears are confirmed when Rhodey discovers the mass grave in the countryside! And while documenting the location, the former avenger is ambushed by Deathtoll once more! Oh my, where did he come from (after dying last issue)? Will War Machine have to kill him again? It's an unpleasant option, but it might be Jim Rhodes' only one!

"Cold War!" Guest-starring Hawkeye. Due to the recent turmoil in his life, James Rhodes seeks out the counsel of the one man who might be able to help him: Hawkeye! However, their reunion in the frozen Arctic is cut short when a bygone era Super-Soviet named Cold Warrior is awakened and sent to destroy them! Cameo appearance by Mack Mendelson. (Note: Clint Barton and Jim Rhodes previously worked together in Hawkeye (1994 2nd series) #3.)

"Friendly Fire!" Part 1 of 2. Guest-starring Iron Man.  Jim Rhodes has to get his armor repaired! And in order to do that he needs the original design drawings! So Rhodey flies to Stark Enterprises and asks his former friend for the specs! But Tony refuses and demands the silver & gray armor back! Obviously that's a huge nonstarter for Rhodey! And the battle that had to happen commences! Iron Man vs. War Machine! May the best WMD win! Story continues in Iron Man 310. Cameo appearances by Sheva Joseph, Bethany Cabe, Felix Alvarez, and the Mandarin. 

Hands of the Mandarin Part 2 of 6. "Once Upon a Time in China" Guest-starring Force Works. Story continues from Force Works (1994) #6. War Machine is deep in the People's Republic and deep in trouble! At the last possible second, Century teleported Rhodey and himself into the Chinese countryside before the Mandarin's power ring blast killed them! However now Rhodey (with his armor damaged) and Century must find civilization in order to return to the fight! Meanwhile, back at the Mandarin's fortress, Iron Man is the super-villain's powerless prisoner thanks to the anti-technology field! But Force Works is on the way to rescue him! Story continues in Iron Man 311. Cameo appearances by the Recorder, Dr. Su Yin, and the Mandarin's Avatars. Force Works Lineup: Iron Man, Century, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Woman, and the U.S. Agent. 

Hands of the Mandarin Part 5 of 6. "The Last Emperor" Guest-starring Force Works. Story continues from Force Works (1994) #7. Outside the Mandarin's fortress, War Machine and Century link up with Force Works! However the Mandarin has already departed his castle! In fact he and his avatars have just arrived in Hong Kong to begin their global conquest! With a strong sense of urgency, Rhodey and Force Works rush to Hong Kong! But along the way they stop at Stark Enterprises' branch facility to pick up a new set of red & gold armor for Tony! And now it's time to face the Mandarin! The sensational showdown is coming up next! Story concludes in Iron Man 312. Cameo appearances by Dr. Su Yin and Suzi Endo. "Home for Christmas" Jim Rhodes is back in Los Angeles after the epic conclusion to the Hands of the Mandarin saga (in Iron Man 312)! Rhodey decides it's time to make things right with Worldwatch, so he admits to his associates that he is War Machine! Graciously, his partners accept the news and agree to move forward (in their human rights endeavors) with Jim as Worldwatch's executive director! Cameo appearances by Rae LaCoste, Sheva Joseph, and Mack Mendelson. 

"Streets of Philadelphia" Part 1 of 3. War Machine returns to his old stomping grounds to visit his parents for the New Year's holiday! However Jim's walk down memory lane is interrupted by a bizarre aerial battle taking place over the city! A thrill-seeking group called the Rush Club likes to test their high-tech battlesuits against unsuspecting adversaries! And when War Machine interferes in their game, the Rush Club is excited to engage him! Meanwhile elsewhere in the city; Rae LaCoste visits Jim's parents, but her visit does not go as planned. Cameo appearance by Sheva Joseph. 

"Natural Born Killers!" Part 2 of 3. In City of Brotherly Love, War Machine fights the Rush Club to a draw! But the Rush Club wants to have more fun with Rhodey, so they challenge him to another fight! And this one will be 100 miles to the southwest in Baltimore! When War Machine arrives in Charm City; Gunship, Sanction, and Locomotive Breath are waiting for him! Three against one! Let the games begin! Cameo appearances by Rae LaCoste and Sheva Joseph. 

"Human Rites!" Part 3 of 3. After going down to defeat in Baltimore last issue, a shocked Jim Rhodes wakes up the next day in Slorenia! Where? Slorenia! The Baltic nation that's embroiled in a civil war (which Force Works tried to halt a few months ago)! And now Locomotive Breath, a Slorene native, wants War Machine to help him stop the ethnic cleansing! That sounds like a noble endeavor! But Rhodey isn't quite sure whom to trust! Is something rotten in the state of Slorenia? Cameo appearances by Sheva Joseph, Nick Fury, Black Brigade, Ember, Volkhvy, and the Scarlet Witch. Flip Book - "War-Time!" Part 1 of 3. Guest-starring Nick Fury. SHIELD and War Machine invade Santiago, Chile to shut down a neo-nazi organization! And during their mission, they discover a Tachyon-powered time drive device! And it's being used to send modern day weapons back to 1940's Germany! Bravely, Rhodey volunteers to go back in time to stop the nazis and rescue Sheva Joseph! And in a matter of minutes, War Machine finds himself in 1943 Berlin fighting alongside Captain America and Bucky vs. the soldiers of the Third Reich! "Zietkrieg Triumphant" Part 2 of 3. Guest-starring the golden age Captain America. War Machine is on the ropes in war-torn Berlin, because the time jump last issue damaged his armor! Fortunately though, the Sentinel of Liberty is able to keep Rhodey safe until his weapon systems come back online! After a quick retreat, Cap and Jim plan a surprise attack on a Luftwaffe airbase! But do they know that an entire Panzer division is guarding it? It's time for War Machine to live up to his name! Cameo appearances by the golden age Bucky, golden age Dum Dum Dugan, and Sheva Joseph.

"...a Time to Keep, and a Time to Cast Away" Part 3 of 3. Guest-starring the golden age Captain America. Rhodey and Cap battle their way to the Zietkrieg time-base in Berlin! And after War Machine says his goodbyes to the shield-slinger and Bucky, he walks toward the time platform with Sheva Joseph and their nazi prisoner! But the crafty creator of the Zietkrieg program gets the drop on Sheva! And suddenly War Machine is faced with a haunting life-or-death decision! The only way to save the world is to execute the nazi scientist! Can Jim bring himself to do that? Cameo appearances by the present day Nick Fury and the golden age Dum Dum Dugan. 

"Long Weekend" Part 1 of 2. Guest-starring Hawkeye. Jim Rhodes needs a vacation after his time travel adventure ended with the loss of his black & silver armor. So for rest and relaxation, Rhodey drives to a small country village to go fishing! But Jim is unaware of the strange things going on in the village! Namely, the giant cyborg lake monster called Lictor! The armorless Rhodey better be careful where he casts his line! First (cameo) appearance of Rhodey's new alien armor (aka the Eidolon Warwear). Cameo appearances by Rae LaCoste, Sheva Joseph, and Skye.

"Here Be Dragons" Part 2 of 2. Guest-starring Hawkeye. First (full) appearance of the Eidolon Warwear armor. In a surprising twist, Jim Rhodes has a new set of armor! An ancient warrior race called the Eidolon has bestowed upon Rhodey an "Eidolon Warwear" suit! Jim doesn't know why he received it; but he's thankful he has the alien armor, because the monstrous Lictor is still trying to kill him! Nevertheless, the powerful War Machine is back in business and ready to lay out the Lictor! Cameo appearances by Sheva Joseph, Rae LaCoste, Skye, and the Hulk.
