Schmider (August 6, 1948 - June 7, 2000), sometimes Danny Schmider, commonly known to Hard Rock Cafe pin collectors simply as Uncle Dan, was a pioneer in the global hobby of Hard Rock pin collecting. Based in Hollywood, California, United States of America, he earned a worldwide reputation as a prolific pin trader and respected brand ambassador. He co-wrote "The Official Hard Rock Cafe Pin Collectors Guide," the 1996 reference book that paved the way for the online pin catalogs of the 21st century. After his death at age 51, Hard Rock released a variety of pins in his memory.

Fake/Fantasy - Uncle Dan blue Hawaiian Aloha shirt with guitars & flowers - "Aug. 16 1948-Jun 7,00" on back. Not an official HRC pin and never sold. Given to staff, family and friends at Uncle Dan memorial service at the Hollywood HRC where a permanent plaque was unveiled in July 2000. Made by a local collector in the Hollywood area for other collectors. No HRC Logo - Although a nice memorial pin. Not a sanctioned HRC pin.
