Roger Moore was an actor who starred as James Bond in seven films between 1973 and 1985 after rising to prominence in the British TV series adaptation of The Saint (1962-9). Moore first appeared as Bond in Live and Let Die (1973), going on to appear in The Man With The Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and A View to a Kill (1985). He spoofed his Bond persona in The Cannonball Run (1981) and also appeared as playboy Brett Sinclair opposite Tony Curtis in the 1971-2 cult series The Persuaders.
