"The Carnage Cosmic," Silver Surfer takes to space to fight the symbiote without harming innocents, leaving Spider-Man to assist the helpless Cletus Kasady; Martha Robertson is treated for her arm wound and condemns Robbie for thinking like a newsman instead of a concerned husband; Spidey brings Cletus to the same hospital, where it's discovered the symbiote was keeping his stomach cancer at bay; Escaping police capture and bystanders trying to collect the Bugle's bounty, Spidey decides to let the world deal with a symbiote-possessed Surfer without him until he sees the Surfer heading towards the hospital to restore the symbiote to Kasady; Spidey tries to stop him until Surfer convinces him otherwise; Carnage is restored, but the Surfer encases him in an ethereal energy shell so he can't harm anyone.
